Reply #1 - Yesterday at 7:49am   TT, I think I'm fairly safe in saying you will not get done for fraud for 200.00!  Sure, the OR 'might' raise his/her eyebrows but that's all they'll do.  In the grand scale of things, you're desperate and the amount in question is not huge.  I've seen lots of people max out all their credit cards, place and receive huge orders from catalogue companies and generally do their upmost to ensure they're covered. In comparison, all you've done is try and get some much needed BR fees together so that you can start proceedings.

This is just my opinion, but I really wouldn't give it another thought. How far are you away from getting the money together?  Are you on benefits (sorry can't remember) - if so, you necessarily need all the fees as I think the court fees are waived in certain circumstances.  Have you looked into that yet?

Best of luck and seriously, I wouldn't worry too much about Provident.

thanx for your reasuring words its made me feel abit better. we r on income surport  and incapacity benifit because my partner has a condition that doesn't get better and hes unable to work even though if theres one thing in life he could do it would be to work and earn his own money instead of living off the state.

we would be excempt from the court fees as thats what welfare rights has told us. so all i need to get is the 345? (i think)

its hard at the mo because we r trying to keep ourselfs afloat and pay the priority bills, rent and so on, but we have got endless hospital appointments in the next coming months either to moorfields eye hospital in london, to our local hospital in town or up to oxford.

do u think i should leave the provident out of the bankruptcy or not??

    Thanx all

Reply #4 - Yesterday at 12:55pm   It's included whether you want it to be or not.  If you try to make any payment to them after B then you are committing an offence.

Provi are hard push sales all the way.  I havent worked there for 12 years but I routinely saw peeps owing 100s ( a couple that owed 1000s) and were more or less having to borrow their monthly repayment every month.

Dont worry about it they deserve almost all they get.

just a question. how will the OR find out that i took the loan out if i dont say nothing about it to anyone coz my partner took a small loan out at the same time as me and i dont want to get him in trouble?

ive still gotta get the rest of the money together but even though ive got the 200 it seems like for ever to get the rest.

    anyway i'll stop moaning now.

Reply #8 - Yesterday at 11:27pm   The or has to put an ad out asking for creds to lodge a claim.  All the main financial mobs tend to know about it pretty quickly.  If you dont admit to it you are committing an offence, if the OR did catch you out he might start wondering what else you'd been hiding.

No way, dont go there, not worth it and certainly not for provi.  It could very well have changed since I left but I doubt by much judging by the salesmen still knocking council estates trying to get peeps to buy vouchers.  We were encouraged to get peeps dependant on us, think of us as a family member that couldnt be let down, pay us not the rent and if peeps wouldnt take out new loans we were supposed to wave wads of notes at them asking how many they would like.

Honestly dont worry about it, dont pay em a penny once you've been to court.  Must admit I wouldnt bother before either.  As to your partners account that's totally seperate to yours.  My old man left provi in a huff (he was a manger & an agent)... and he repaid his staff loan at 50p a week even tho he was made one of my customers.  If an agent doesnt get in trouble for their hubbies account being at what they call the worst stage (1 or less rate payments over 12 weeks) then your 200 really is small fry.  It wasnt unheard of for peeps to get their first loan/big loan then beggar off/ or refuse to pay either.

If it were my hubbie going bankrupt now I'd be very much inclined to accept the next loan they offer (used to be they started pushing for you to get another one after 6 weeks of full payments) and help him out.  Then I'd go to the minimum payments of 50p a week myself.  The worst thing that used to happen was a few snotty pc generated letters and sometimes one of the managers visiting to see if he could get peeps to agree a better payment.  All of em were as soft as butter and would prefer a genuine offer of 50p every week than a few here & there as would all of the agents.

Of course I wouldnt in any way encourage anyone to get themselves into debt or deliberately take out loans they cant afford or have no intention of repaying, just saying what I would do but then I can be a bolshy cow at times
