going to respond to this yet. Quote: On March 15, 2007, the business provided the following information:
We received the correspondence from the BBB in response to the matter of Karen XXXXXX and our company. Midland Marketing followed the contract that Ms XXXXXXX signed electronically online. We do not show that Ms XXXXXX has paid anything towards the principle balance. Ms XXXXXX emailed us that we have broken the law of her state by loaning her the money and that she wanted the loan marked paid in full. Since Ms XXXXXX revoked authorization for us to debit her account per her contract she automatically gets sent to collections.
goudah2424 Interesting . . . They don't deny they broke your states laws . . . . 2nband aritan No they don't. I think I will explain this to my response to the BBB complaint and provide them with a copy of the law, again Bridget Write one more letter to the bureau telling about the problems you had with the company. Insist the BBB to look into your complaints because you expect them to resolve it with Midland Marketing 2nband aritan thinking of responding with....suggestions, improvements, ok..... Quote: Midland Marketing is not licensed to do business in the state of NC nor are any other payday loan companies allowed to do business in the state of NC. A complaint has also been filed with the NC State Attorney General's office. Midland was notified of the law with a copy of the law for the state of NC. They cannot say they were not conducting business in NC because per the AG's office, if they contact someone in NC, loan someone in NC and withdraw money in NC they are doing business in NC. Here is a copy of the NC law:
Legal Status: Prohibited (N.C. Gen. Stat. ?? 53-281 authorizing payday loans allowed to sunset in 2001) Citation: The consumer finance act applies. N.C. Gen. Stat. ?? 53-173 Small Loan Rate Cap 36% per year Where to Complain, Get Information: Regulator: North Carolina Attorney General (See also Commissioner of Banks) Address: NC Attorney General's Office 9001 Mail Service Center Raleigh, NC 27699-9001
Midland marketing has not denied in this response that they broke the law. I would like this account marked PIF and removed from collections. Midland Marketing is in violation of the NC law regarding payday loans.

OK, I revised my response a bit. Does this sound ok? Just want to check before I hit submit and send this. ount. I have paid $240 on a $200 loan. Midland Marketing has still made a profit off of my loan.

Midland marketing has not denied in their response that they broke the law. I would like this account marked PIF and removed from collections and no negative marks on my credit report.
sure that it would be found that they are operating illegally in other states as well.[/i]
(edited for corrections) goudah2424 I think it sounds good . . . . Bridget Everything is mentioned with facts. Nothing to worry! 2nband aritan submitting it now!! Lela Guest Anyone got the number for Midland Marketing? _________________ . This is the most recent response to the BBB complaint. Now they did not state whether or not they have pulled the account from collections and about it will show up on my credit reports. Now I have to provide whether I accept this or not and have been debating on how I should do this. Should I go ahead and accept or should I say not I don't accept this and that I will if they will also add that my account has been pulled from collections and there will not be any derogitory marks against me anywhere? goudah2424 I'd push it. It doesn't say that collection attempts won't be tried in the future, and it doesn't say that your account has been marked pif. pinkflutter716 Where can I find out if a pay day loan company is licensed in my state? pinkflutter716 Where can I find out if a pay day loan company is licensed in my state?
